Concerto di Fonterutoli
"Concerto" was born in 1981, as an effect of a viticulture becoming aware of its potential, experimenting new training systems and new blends, including also non-autochthonous varietals. It was one of the forerunners and also a major player of the "Super Tuscans" phenomenon.
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG
It's the wine that represents the essence itself of Castello di Fonterutoli estate. It was a forerunner, in 1995, of Gran Selezione category; it's a Cru of Sangiovese coming from 11 parcels surrounding the Fonterutoli hamlet, in the Castellina in Chianti municipality. The real "Château" of the estate.
In Fonterutoli, the quintessence of our research on Sangiovese resides in an experimental vineyard, planted at the end of the 90s in ideal pedoclimatic conditions for Sangiovese: 36 different biotypes of Sangiovese, including 18 massal selections coming from our old vineyards. A cutting edge agronomical project creates a pure-bred Sangiovese, a unique wine that includes "Cru", "Monovarietal" and "Blend".
Chianti Classico DOCG
It comes from 120 different company parcels, which spread across a unique range of soil and climate types, at an altitude from 220 to 570 metres above sea level in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. It is the flagship and the "Best Seller" of the company, a benchmark for the whole category.
Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG
With this outstanding Chianti Classico Riserva, the Marquis Mazzei celebrate their notable ancestor Ser Lapo, author of the first official document mentioning “Chianti wine” (December 16th, 1398).

This wine is dedicated to Philip Mazzei (1730-1816), an illustrious ancestor of the family, political thinker, American Patriot and pioneer, together with Thomas Jefferson, of the viticulture in Virginia. Made with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon selected from our estates, Philip is the quintessence of Tuscany. "The great doctrine ‘All men are created equal’, incorporated into the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson, was paraphrased from the writings of Philip Mazzei, an Italian-born patriot, and close friend of Jefferson’s." (JFK, "A Nation of Immigrants")
Maremma Toscana Rosso DOC
Made with Cabernet Sauvignon and a small percentage of Cabernet Franc grapes, this powerful and elegant wine is the most important "Cru" of the Estate, a pure expression of the Maremma "terroir".
Born from the "marriage" of Sangiovese and Syrah, it is vinified in contact with the skins for a few hours. Rich and intense, it's a very versatile wine that is enhanced by the pairing with several different dishes.
Vermentino di Toscana IGT
This Vermentino in purity reflects the production philosophy of the Marchesi Mazzei. Vermentino is an indigenous grape variety that has its home by the Tyrrhenian sea coast, with its minerality and sapidity, shows great identity, juiciness and freshness.
The Tyrrhenian Sea derived its name from the population of the "Tyrrhenoi", better known as the Etruscans, who led by Prince Tyrrhenus landed on the coast of Southern Tuscany. This charismatic blend bears the name "Tirrenico" because its native vineyards overlook the sea and benefit from its breezes.

Noto Rosso DOC
It’s the most important wine of the estate, made with a selection of indigenous Nero d'Avola, rigorously bush trained, on two single estate parcels; it shows a different and personal style. A "super" Nero d'Avola, where the name "Doppiozeta" highlights the "core" of the Mazzei name.
Terre Siciliane IGT
The unique characteristics of Noto "terroir" meet a great single-variety, creating a wine intriguing and rich of personality. The name "Effe Emme" (the Italian spelling of FM) refers to Filippo Mazzei's monogram, "stitched" on a wine unique as a tailor made cloth.
Thanks to the soil rocky and calcareous and to the dry climate, the Syrah grape express itself at the best in Sicily, and in particular at Zisola, where the "alberello" (bushy vines) training system allows to keep under control the natural exuberance of the varietal.
Sicilia Noto Rosso DOC
Zisola is made only from traditional "Alberello" (bushy) vines grown near Noto, an unique area to make wine. The proximity of the sea and the soil rich in limestone allow to best balance the natural Nero d'Avola exuberance, with a great freshness and elegance.
Azisa, the word that gives rise to the name Zisola, also means "beautiful", an adjective that describes in one single word the character of this wine made from grapes of Grillo and a touch of Catarratto.
Villa Marcello Brut Millesimato
The wines of Villa Marcello are the result of a balance between modern and traditional techniques. The silty and clayey soil, characterized by a complex structure and the choice of environmentally friendly growing, highlights the quality and the uniqueness of our production. The grapes produced in about 60 hectares of vineyard, fermented and made into authentic wines, are originated from accurate clonal selections. Prosecco finds in this location the perfect setting to express its potential.
